Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before renting equipment from Media Film Service.

1. Rental Agreement

By renting equipment from Media Film Service, you agree to be bound by our Terms and Conditions detailed in our Business Application form. The rental agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the renter and Media Film Service regarding the rental of equipment.

2. Equipment Condition

All equipment is provided in good working condition. The renter is responsible for inspecting the equipment upon receipt and reporting any damage or defects within 24 hours of rental. Equipment must be returned in the same condition as received, normal wear and tear excepted.

3. Rental Period

The rental period begins at the time of pickup or delivery and ends at the agreed return time. Late returns will be charged at the daily rental rate. Equipment must be returned by the agreed date and time, or additional charges will apply.

4. Payment Terms

New account terms are strictly COD. Other payment terms can be discussed and agreed upon before the equipment is released. We accept various payment methods, including bank transfer and card payments. A deposit may be required for certain equipment. All prices are subject to applicable taxes.

5. Damage and Loss

The renter is fully responsible for any damage to or loss of equipment during the rental period. Damage assessments will be conducted upon return, and repair or replacement costs will be charged to the renter. In the event of a total loss, the renter will be charged the full replacement value of the equipment.

6. Insurance

Insurance is mandatory for all equipment rentals. The renter must provide their own insurance if the equipment replacement value exceeds R600 000.00. Media Film Service’s damage waiver will apply only if the replacement value is below R600 000.00 and does not cover theft or loss, or damages due to negligence.

7. Liability

Media Film Service is not responsible for any loss of income, data, or profits resulting from equipment rental or use. The renter assumes all risk associated with the use of the equipment. Media Film Service’s liability is limited to the rental value of the equipment.

8. Equipment Use

Equipment must be used in accordance with manufacturer specifications and guidelines. The renter is responsible for proper operation and maintenance of the equipment. Equipment may not be used for purposes other than those agreed upon in the rental agreement.

9. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the rental period begins. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the rental period will be charged 50% of the rental fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours will be charged the full rental fee.

10. Delivery and Pickup

Delivery and pickup services are available for an additional fee. The renter is responsible for ensuring someone is available to receive the equipment at the agreed time. If the renter is not available, additional charges may apply.

11. Technical Support

Media Film Service provides technical support during business hours. Support is available 24/7 for emergency situations. Technical support does not cover equipment damage due to misuse or improper operation.

12. Intellectual Property

All equipment and materials provided by Media Film Service remain the property of Media Film Service. The renter may not modify, reverse engineer, or attempt to repair the equipment without prior written consent.

13. Compliance with Laws

The renter agrees to comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the use of the equipment. The renter is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits or licenses required for the use of the equipment.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from the rental agreement will be resolved through negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved through arbitration in accordance with South African law.

15. Amendments

Media Film Service reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Continued use of the rental service constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
